Herbal Honey is a Christ centered organization providing custom formulated easy to use herbal solutions to everyday wellness concerns. Our primary product, tea, is the world’s top beverage choice second only to water. Our mission is to help others improve and maintain their wellness through thoughtful formulation and the use of high quality ingredients, grown and processed sustainably from the farm to the consumer. We are changing the way people think about their wellness one sip at a time.
Over 90% of our products are grown organically using sustainable practices, with about 5%of those being harvested through wild crafting. We believe that this planet is just as special and beautiful as each one of you who resides on it. By ensuring our products are organic and grown sustainably we make sure that we can all heal ourselves together. Our goal as a company is to continue our transition to 100% compostable, biodegradable and/or recyclable packaging. We know that change, be that to our health, our mentality, or other aspects of who we are all take time and that change happens one seed at a time.
Meet Keisha
Keisha Mathes: Founder and Chief Herbalist
As a child my greatest fear was losing my mom. Each time she went into the hospital I was terrified she would never return. Outside of my mom being ill, the “cure” was almost as bad as the illness itself. She seemingly was allergic to everything. I watched my mother suffer for over 20 years until she found a natural alternative that helped her turn the corner. I have been interested in natural medicines and remedies ever since.I started studying herbs, botanical pharmacology and formulations. While working towards my BS, I needed extra courses to round out my schedule to meet a full time requirement.
As a working mom of seven at the time (now eight!), there were tons of limitations as to when or where I could take classes. That’s when I stumbled upon an herbal healing class. My interest was piqued the first day of class and by the end of the semester I was in love. In 2005, I made my first herbal formulation. Since then, I have made countless formulas for friends, family, and myself.In 2014, I was awarded my Baccalaureate degree in Integrative Therapeutic Practices from Metropolitan State University of Denver. In addition to being an herbalist I hold a Level II certification as a Reiki Practitioner. A self proclaimed science nerd I have a strong background in biological sciences and have worked in the healthcare field for over 20 years and still love creating custom formualtions!
