Changing the way you think about your wellness: One Sip at a Time

Getting to Know Keisha

As a child growing up my greatest fear was losing my mom. Each time she went into the hospital I was terrified she would never return. Outside of my mom being ill, the ‘cure’ was almost as bad as the illness itself. To top it off she seemingly was allergic to everything, and if she wasn’t allergic the sentence almost always ended with a yet. I watched my mother suffer for over 20 years until she found a natural alternative in the late 90’s that helped her turn the corner. I have been interested in natural medicines and remedies ever since. In 2014 I was awarded my Baccalaureate degree in Integrative Therapeutic Practices from Metropolitan State University of Denver. I have been studying herbs, botanical pharmacology and formulations since 2005. In addition to being an herbalist I hold a level II certification as a Reiki Practitioner.

A self proclaimed science nerd I have a strong background in biological sciences and have worked in the healthcare field for over 20 years. While attending school working towards my BS I like most students needed an extra course or two to round out my schedule to meet a full time requirement. As a working mom of seven at the time and now eight, there were tons of limitations as to when or where I could take classes. That’s when I stumbled upon an herbal healing class. My interest was piqued the first day of class and by the end of the semester I was in love. In 2005 I made my first herbal formulation for a family member in need.

They were suffering from a great deal of pain and inflammation and wanted to try something natural to relieve it. I spent hours combing over herbs, their precautions and benefits to create a tea that I hoped would not only help but also not cause any harm. I succeeded and created what has become widely known as Savannah’s Blend. I ultimately created a tea and a salve. Something that could be used internally for the pain and inflammation, as well as directly on the site. Over the last 13 years I have made countless formulas for friends, family, and myself. Safety is always a top priority so the majority of the herbs used in my formulations are generally regarded as safe. As an herbalist, my greatest joy is helping someone achieve their goals using natural medicine and modalities
